The Best Hockey Streaming Services in 2026-27
There's no single app that carries all of hockey — national games, your local team and out-of-market are split across different services. Here's what each streaming option actually carries in 2026-27, what it costs, and how to pick.

Which one do you need?
- You mostly watch national games (the big matchups, primetime, the Cup Final). You need the ESPN side and the TNT side. The cheapest path is the ESPN app for ESPN/ABC games plus HBO Max for TNT games. A single live-TV service like Hulu + Live TV, Fubo or YouTube TV can carry both, at a higher monthly price.
- You follow one team that isn't local to you. Add ESPN+ (via the ESPN app) for the out-of-market package — over 1,000 games. Just remember your local team's in-market games are blacked out there.
- You want your local team. That's the regional network, not a national app. Some are free over the air (Vegas, Utah, Tampa Bay and others via Scripps; Dallas on Victory+); others need a cable login, the RSN's own app, or a live-TV service that carries it — see our NHL guide for the team-by-team map.
- You follow the AHL, or college hockey. FloHockey is the AHL's league-wide home and carries a big slice of college hockey too.
- You're in Canada. Sportsnet+ plus a Prime Video membership (for Wednesday games) covers the national slate; note that free over-the-air hockey ended with CBC's exit after 2025-26.
The free options
Hockey isn't all paywalled. Several teams now air in-market on free over-the-air TV through Scripps (Vegas, Utah, Tampa Bay, Nashville and the Panthers among them), and the Dallas Stars stream free on Victory+ within their market. Nationally, ABC's "Hockey Saturday" windows are free over the air. In Canada, though, the free era is over for now.
