How We Verify Our Listings

Last updated: July 29, 2026

A schedule is only useful if it's right. Here's exactly how we put our hockey TV and streaming listings together and check them.

1. Primary sources first

Every game starts from an official or primary feed — the NHL's official schedule data, the AHL's official stats feed, and established sports-data providers for other leagues. We don't copy listings from other schedule sites; we go to the source.

2. Broadcast assignments, checked against the carrier

National windows (ESPN, ABC, TNT, TBS and their streaming homes in the US; Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada) come from the rights-holders' own announcements. Local games air on a team's regional sports network or direct-to-consumer stream, which we map per team. When a feed lists a broadcaster we can't confirm, we mark the game's window as "TBD" rather than print a channel we're unsure of.

3. "TBD" is a real answer

Networks frequently assign a game's TV window only a week or two out. Until it's set, we show TBD — because an honest "not announced yet" is more useful than a guess that sends you to the wrong channel. The listing fills in automatically once the carrier confirms it.

4. Times in your zone

All start times are stored in US Eastern and converted to your device's local time zone automatically, so you never have to do the math.

5. Regular refreshes and corrections

Schedules change — postponements, flexed start times, late TV assignments. We refresh regularly and re-publish. Hand-verified corrections are applied on top of the feed so they can't be undone by the next refresh.

6. Blackouts and out-of-market

Local broadcasts are typically blacked out outside a team's home market; out-of-market games in the US generally live on ESPN+. Where a game is regional, we say so rather than imply it's available everywhere.
